EGI Conference on Challenges and Solutions for Big Data Processing on Cloud and International Desktop Grid Federation workshop

Event Date:
Tue, 2014-09-23 (All day) - Fri, 2014-09-26 (All day)

The EGI Conference on Challenges and Solutions for Big Data Processing on Cloud will take place at at the Amsterdam Science Park in the Netherlands (24-26 September).
There is no registration fee but registration is *mandatory*, and I would like to encourage you to register if you are planning to attend.

The call for participation to the EGI and GÉANT Symposium on Federated Community Cloud Services for e-Science is open until the 19th of August and and you are encouraged to submit a contribution:

Co-located with this event, the International Desktop Grid Federation is organising its first member meeting on September 24, 2014 in the Big Data Value Centre in Almere, in the Amsterdam Metropolitan region.  We'd kindly like to invite you to participate and possibly hold a presentation at this event. There are still some presentation slots available.
The first IDGF member meeting is co-located with two other events: a one-day tutorial on Crowd & Computing on September 23, and a workshop on Citizen Science Technology Platforms on September 25. The whole three-day event will take place under the umbrella of the Crowd Computing 2014 Event (http://crowdcomputing.eu/crowd-computing-2014). You are welcome to also attend the tutorial and the workshop.

The IDGF technical meeting will concentrate on topics that are of direct interest to the members and member organisations of IDGF, especially those who operate Desktop Grids or Crowd Computing as we call it today.

This year we will focus on 3 themes for Desktop Grid/Crowd computing operators:
1. Financial aspects
2. Managing and operations
3. Communication, especially with citizens
